Day One

  3. Machines and settings
  4. TIG torch set up
    1. Regular collet body
    2. Gas lens
    3. Cups sizes
    4. Gas flow
    5. Tungsten types, sizes and prep
  5. Feeding filler material
  6. Gas types and uses
    1. 100% argon
    2. Mixed gases
    3. Mixing your own gas
  7. Practice TIG welding using a sharpie/pen
  8. Amperage
  9. Contact to work distance (CTWD)
  10. TIG welding- welding drills
    1. Aluminum welding drill
    2. Steel welding drill
    3. Stainless welding drill

Day Two

  1. Review of Day One
  2. TIG Welding
    1. Alum, Steel, SS Lap welds
    2. Alum, Steel, SS Fillet Welds
  3. Small TIG welding projects
    1. Welding a “die”
  4. Cut and Etch samples
  5. Machine shop repairs
    1. Examples on fixing crashed tool mistakes
    2. Repairing mis-machining

  1. Can these classes be applied toward your welding certification? I have one person who is interested in attending but it would have to go toward his cert.

  2. I def want to sign up for the class. Is the cost just for the 2 day class or does it include hotel stay? I just want all my ducks in a row and know my total cost. Thanks
